Over 220 defenders get support at the "I'Mariupol" centre in Kyiv

The "Veterans" project is running at the "I'Mariupol" centres to support veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and their families. It was started by Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko to provide all sorts of help to our defenders, in particular, to those coming back from captivity.

At the left-bank centre in Kyiv, Veteran’s Assistant Lyubov Sazonova cares for 226 veterans released from captivity and their family members. Since the start of the large-scale exchanges, released defenders have been contacting the centre every week.

"In July alone, there have been 20 new applications. Seven of them during the last week. Among them are multi-child parents and wounded defenders. We meet them, register them, help with treatment, rest, and paperwork, depending on each person’s needs," says Lyubov Sazonova.

Each application is a separate story that requires attention and support from the Veteran's Assistant. We are doing our best to help everyone return to normal life.

We support our defenders! We are waiting for every defender to come back home!
