The first graduates of the Community Recovery Academy got their certificates of completion!

For six months, 110 participants from 37 communities and 14 regions of Ukraine have been training to restore the war-affected territories. The main outcome of the training was development of "Community Profiles», which contain specific steps and strategic goals on the way to restoring and transforming communities.

Today, together with partners and graduates of the Academy, we have summed up the results of the project. We have good feedback, fair comments and an updated programme for the second training stream. The next stage will include 5 core modules, 5 specialised courses and a new direction called "Demand for Justice". We will invite representatives of 30 communities to participate, so stay tuned for more details.

Over this time, 7 educational institutions have become academic partners of the project, including the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Metinvest Polytechnic, as well as the renowned University of Maryland and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In total, the Community Recovery Academy has brought together 16 international and national institutions.

All this serves our common dream of rebuilding the country and ensuring its sustainable development as part of the European Union. I would like to thank all the partners who have joined our dream and are helping to make it come true. Best wishes to our graduates who will work for the well-being of their communities. I believe that all of your ideas and developments will be implemented and will benefit our entire country.

The Community Recovery Academy, founded by the Association of Ukrainian Cities and the NGO "Mariupol.Reborn", aims to train municipal managers for the recovery period. The project is supported by the UK Government through the UK International Development programme and the International Republican Institute (IRI Ukraine) in partnership with Metinvest and SCM.
