I'Mariupol support network is planned to be expanded to several more cities
The number of internally displaced people from Mariupol who will be able to use comprehensive support services at I'Mariupol centres will increase. This was announced during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Mariupol City Council.
In 2024, it is planned to launch I'Mariupol centres in Poltava and Kamianske (Dnipro region). There is a high demand for this from Mariupol residents.
In addition, the I'Mariupol. Care household centre will soon be opened in Vinnytsia. Its services will be available to more than 1,500 families in Mariupol.
Future plans include increasing the number of visits to the I'Mariupol. Family recreation centre in Morshyn. This will enable 400 additional Mariupol residents to have a rest. We are currently establishing cooperation with Artek, which operates in Kyiv region.
The project I'Mariupol. Housing is also expected to expand. It is planned to open two dormitories in Dnipro and two more in Chernivtsi. This will provide social housing for 2000 Mariupol residents.
"We are looking for opportunities to reach more Mariupol residents with comprehensive support. This is a challenge for a community that has temporarily lost its city and has no property. However, we have managed not only to create a support network but also to launch a number of pilot projects for internally displaced persons. This was made possible thanks to the support of the Government of Ukraine, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, international donors, national partners and big business. Together we are bringing people back to life," said Vadym Boichenko, mayor of Mariupol.
Currently, the I'Mariupol network includes 25 support centers for Mariupol residents across Ukraine. These include 17 I'Mariupol base centers, 6 household and 2 recreation centers. More than 61000 Mariupol residents are covered with the assistance.
