Reconstruction work on a new dormitory in Dnipro is underway

Thanks to the Mariupol City Council project "I’Mariupol. Housing" led by Vadym Boichenko, the first social housing for Mariupol residents was opened in Dnipro in April last year. The initiative is currently being expanded.

As part of the first stage, another dormitory in Dnipro, run by Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, is being renovated. It will be able to accommodate 177 families, which is about 440 people.

Renovation work is currently underway. On the ground floor, there will be a children's room, laundry room, psychologist's room, and a coworking area. The building will have accessibility elements. Several rooms will be specially equipped for people with disabilities.

The process is based on transparent cooperation with international partners. The Mariupol City Council creates an order, provides technical and visual terms of reference. And the donor independently selects the executor, who holds tenders and controls finances.

The project is implemented thanks to the partners - the Government of the French Republic, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the Humanitarian mission “”Proliska with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, GROE company, and International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The work is scheduled to be completed by summer 2024. There are also plans to expand the project's geography.
